December 24, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Policy toward Materialization of Fee Calculations based on Review of Radio Wave Usage Fees

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drafted a policy toward the materialization of fee calculations based on a review of radio wave usage fees for the next term (fiscal 2022 to 2024). Accordingly, MIC will make an appeal for opinions on the draft from Saturday, December 25, 2021 through Monday, January 17, 2022.

1. Background

Since November 2020, MIC has been holding a Radio Policy Roundtable in the Age of Digital Transformation (chaired by MITOMO Hitoshi, Professor, Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University), which compiled a report at the end of August 2021.
Based on this report, MIC has drafted the policy toward the materialization of fee calculations based on a review of radio wave usage fees. Accordingly, MIC has decided to appeal for opinions on the draft policy toward the materialization of fee calculations (PDF attachment 1).
