February 5, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Basic Plan on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for FY2021

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal from Saturday, February 6 through Friday, March 5, 2021, on a draft of a basic plan on research and development to be newly implemented in and after fiscal 2021.

1. Overview

MIC is conducting research and development (R & D) for expanding radio wave resources to reduce the tightness of frequencies and effectively use radio waves to respond to the expanding needs of radio waves.
Before making an appeal for proposals for six new R & D projects to be newly implemented in and after fiscal 2021, MIC has decided to make an appeal for a wide range of opinions on the draft basic plan that describes the contents, technical issues, and goals R & D to be achieved.

2. Submission deadline

No later than Friday, March 5, 2021. Submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date.

3. Future plans

MIC will formulate a basic plan based on the opinions received and promptly make a public appeal for R & D proposals.
