February 26, 2021 First New Business Strategy Seminar for the Beyond 5G Era

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) announces that the first new business strategy seminar for the Beyond 5G era will be held. This seminar is an initiative of the Beyond 5G New Business Strategy Center (co-headed by MORIKAWA Hiroyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, and YANAGAWA Noriyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Economics, the University of Tokyo).

1. Purpose

On December 18, 2020, MIC launched the Beyond 5G New Business Strategy Center (co-headed by MORIKAWA Hiroyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, and YANAGAWA Noriyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Economics, the University of Tokyo). The purpose is the Beyond 5G New Business Strategy Center is to strategically acquire and standardize intellectual property with the participation of major industry-academia-government players toward the Beyond 5G era.
The Center encourages private companies and universities to promote the formation of markets and new market entry proactively and strategically by making full use of intellectual property and standardization, the development and social implementation of innovative technologies and services. Therefore, we will support these efforts, provide reference information, provide a place for collaboration, and provide dissemination and enlightenment.
As part of the efforts of the Center, the first new business strategy seminar for the Beyond 5G era will be held for corporate managers, international standardization department managers, and R & D department managers, researchers, etc.
