March 5, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from New-generation Mobile Communications System Subcommittee

The New-generation Mobile Communications System Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: MORIKAWA Hiroyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo) of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council has been studying technical requirements for mobile communications systems in the 2.3 GHz band since December 2018 in response to Inquiry No. 2038 of October 12, 2016, for new-generation mobile communications systems.
Recently, the New-generation Mobile Communications Systems Subcommittee drafted a report. Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal for opinions from Saturday, March 6 through Wednesday, March 31, 2021, on the draft report.

2. Overview

The New-generation Mobile Communications System Subcommittee of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council has been studying technical requirements for mobile communications systems in the 2.3 GHz band as part of technical requirements for new-generation mobile communications systems since December 2018.
Recently, the New-generation Mobile Communications Systems Subcommittee drafted a report on the result of its study. Accordingly, MIC has decided to make an appeal for opinions from Saturday, March 6 through Wednesday, March 31, 2021, on the draft report.

3. Procedure for appeal for opinions

The published material is in Japanese only.

4. Submission deadline

No later than Wednesday, March 31, 2021. (Submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date.)

5. Future plans

With consideration of the result of the opinions submitted, the report will be finalized.
