March 12, 2021 Result of Public Appeal for Organizations to Implement Digital Interference Countermeasure Project Etc.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public appeal from Friday, January 8, through Monday, February 8, 2021. This public appeal was for organizations making environmental improvements and support the smooth migration of conventional broadcasting to digital terrestrial broadcasting (under MIC’s Digital Interference Countermeasure Project) and those implementing MIC’s Environmental Development Project on Satellite Broadcasting reception under a fiscal 2021 budget.
MIC had the proposal contents of applicants evaluated by external experts and selected the candidates specified below.
1.Outlines of projects
1. Digital Interference Countermeasure Project
This project will implement interference elimination measures through consultation on wireless reception and field surveys and eliminate or prevent interference with digital terrestrial television broadcasting.
2. Reception Environment Improvement Project for Satellite Broadcasting
This project is related to the intermediate frequency band used by the new 4K/8K satellite broadcasting, which started in December 2018. The project will improve the receiving equipment for satellite basic broadcasting that may affect other wireless systems and develop an appropriate receiving environment.
2.Candidates for project implementation organizations
MIC made a public appeal from Friday, January 8, through Monday, February 8, 2021, for implementation organizations, and there was one applicant for each project. MIC had their proposal contents evaluated by external experts and selected the candidates specified below.

3.Future plans
In the future, MIC plans to accept grant applications from selected project implementation organization candidates, examine them, and then make a grant decision.
