March 15, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Basic Plan on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for FY2021 and Public Appeal for Proposals

Prior to a public appeal for proposals for research and development (R&D) for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources, which will be newly implemented from fiscal 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal from Saturday, February 6 through Friday, March 5, 2021, on a draft of a basic plan on R&D.
As a result, seven opinions were submitted on the draft basic plan. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the opinion to the public along with MIC’s views on the opinion and a finalized basic plan.
MIC will make a public appeal from Tuesday, March 16 through Monday, April 19, 2021, on R&D proposals based on the basic plan.
MIC has decided to make this public appeal before the fiscal 2021 budget bill passes through the Diet so that this program can be started promptly after the budget bill passes through the Diet. Therefore, it should be kept in mind that the implementation of the program is subject to change according to the passage of the budget bill.

MIC made an appeal from Saturday, February 6 through Friday, March 5, 2021, on the draft of the basic plan on R&D. As a result, seven opinions were submitted.
On the basis of the basic plan that reflects the results of the public appeal for opinions, MIC has decided to make the public appeal for R&D proposals for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources, which will be newly implemented from fiscal 2021.

Late May: Evaluation by external experts and selection of research institutions to be contracted
