March 22, 2021 Organizing Digital Utilization Support Advisory Board

As the entire society is being digitized, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to organize a Digital Utilization Support Advisory Board to obtain advice from experts so that digital utilization support for the elderly can be systematically and effectively implemented.

1. Purpose

With the digitalization of the entire society, it is required to widely spread digital utilization support efforts to provide advice and consultation on online administrative procedures and how to use services and eliminate the elderly's anxiety about digital utilization.
Toward the people-friendly digitization that leaves no one behind, as indicated in the Basic Policy for Reforms toward the Realization of a Digital Society (Cabinet decision of December 25, 2020), MIC will organize the Digital Utilization Support Advisory Board. The Digital Utilization Support Advisory Board will obtain advice from experts and ensure the systematic and effective implementation of projects that promote digital utilization support (hereafter referred to as "digital utilization support promotion projects").

2. Items studied

  • 1.
    Formulation of digital utilization support goals (e.g., KPIs) and business development plans (policies)
  • 2.
    Evaluation of digital utilization support promotion projects
  • 3.
    Improvement measures for digital utilization support promotion projects
  • 4.
    Other matters necessary to effectively implement digital utilization support

3. Schedule

The first meeting will be held on March 23, 2021, and successive meetings will be held sequentially after that.
