March 23, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from the Subcommittee on Electromagnetic Environment for Radio-wave Utilization

MIC made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, January 30 through Monday, March 1, 2021, on a draft report of the Subcommittee on Electromagnetic Environment for Radio-wave Utilization (Chief investigator: Taki Masao, special leading professor at the Faculty of Systems Design and professor emeritus, Tokyo Metropolitan University) of the Department on Information and Communications Technology under the Information and Communications Council. This report was made on technical conditions related to the measurement and calculation methods of the intensity of radio waves emitted from new wireless systems, such as underground base stations, as part of the measurement and calculation methods for the intensity of radio waves emitted from base stations (Inquiry No. 2045 of January 21, 2020) since January 2020.
As a result, four opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the opinions to the public and the subcommittee’s views on the opinions.

3 Future plans

With consideration of the result of the appeal for opinions, the Department on Information and Communications Technology (chaired by OYA Yuji, President, Kyushu Institute of Technology) under the Information and Communications Council) will further deliberate the technical conditions.
