March 24, 2021 30th Central Emergency Communications Council Awards

The Central Emergency Communications Council (chaired by TAKEUCHI Yoshiaki, Director-General of the Telecommunications Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) has conferred the 30th Central Emergency Communications Council Awards on organizations that made significant contributions to securing communications in times of disaster in fiscal 2020.

1. Overview

The Central Emergency Communications Council confers awards on individuals and organizations that have successfully implemented emergency communications, or operation of emergency communications councils, to ensure smooth emergency communications.
This fiscal year, a total of six organizations were conferred with awards. Five of them greatly contributed to securing communication means and providing information to disaster-related organizations during the heavy rain on July 2, 2020. One of them contributed to the efforts of the Emergency Communications Council.

2. Recipients

The Central Emergency Communications Council has awarded the following six organizations this year:

    Those who contributed to securing communication means in the event of a disaster

    • Kyushu Regional Headquarters, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation
    • Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. and Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Co., Ltd. (jointly)
    • Kyushu Branch Office, NTT Docomo Inc.
    • Kyushu Branch Office, KDDI Corporation
    • Kyushu Network Engineering Department, SoftBank Corp.

    Contribution to the efforts of the Council

    • Japan Fishing Radio Association
