March 26, 2021 Approval to Change of Interconnection Tariff Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and West (Revision of Interconnection Charges for FY2021 based on Long-term Incremental Expense System)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a report from the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council in response to the MIC’s inquiry No. 3126 of February 12, 2021. The report was issued on the change of interconnection agreements (the revision of interconnection charges for FY2021 based on the long-term incremental expense system) related to the Category I designated telecommunications facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT East and NTT West).
Considering the report, MIC will approve applications from NTT East and NTT West for the revision promptly.
1. Summary of changes
The Rules of the Interconnection Tariff for Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 2 of 2021) have been promulgated and partially enforced since January 14, 2021. Accordingly, to specify the interconnection charges and pertinent conditions for fiscal 2021 based on the long-term incremental expense system, necessary changes shall be made to the interconnection tariff agreements of NTT East and West.
