April 21, 2021 Announcement of Contents of Notifications concerning Utilization Business of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (headed by President INOUE Fukuzo) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (headed by President KOBAYASHI Mitsutoshi) (hereafter referred to as NTT East and West) recently submitted notifications concerning their utilization business according to Paragraph 6, Article 2 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Act No. 85 of 1984; hereafter referred to as the “NTT Act”). Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will open the contents of their notifications to the public.

1. Overview

According to Paragraph 6, Article 2 of the NTT Act, in cases where NTT East and West intend to run any utilization business, they must in advance notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of the matters provided for in MIC’s ministerial ordinance.
Accordingly, NTT East and West submitted notifications describing the matters listed in Article 2-4 of the Rules for Enforcement of the Act Concerning Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 23 of 1985) on April 12, 2021. Accordingly, MIC has decided to announce the contents under Article 2-5 of the same ordinance.

3. Date for commencement of services

The respective notifications state that NTT East and West will commence their services on Monday, May 2021.
