April 30, 2021 Response to Issues on Human Rights in Broadcast Programs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today requested the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association (JBA) and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) to understand and consider discrimination and human rights violations in broadcast programs.

MIC urged JBA to inform its member companies of their understanding and consideration of discrimination and human rights violations. At the same time, MIC requested NHK to understand and consider discrimination and human rights violations.
