May 18, 2021 Official Announcement of Notification Content Concerning Utilization Business of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereafter “NTT East,” headed by INOUE Fukuzo, President) has made a notification regarding a business operation (hereafter the “utilization business”). This notification is based on Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Act No. 85 of 1984, hereafter the “NTT Act”). Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will open the content of the notification to the public.

1. Overview

When NTT East intends to conduct any utilization business, it shall notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of matters prescribed by a Ministerial Ordinance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in advance under Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the NTT Act.
Based on this provision, NTT East has submitted a written notification of matters prescribed in each item of Article 2-4 of the Rules for Enforcement of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 23 of 1985) on April 30, 2021. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the same to the public under Article 2-5 of the Rules for Enforcement of the NTT Act.

2. Date of commencement of business

The notification of the NTT East states that it will commence the utilization business on Monday, May 31, 2021.
