May 20, 2021 Announcement of Occurrence State of Major Broadcasting Accidents (FY2020)

To ensure the safety and reliability of the facilities for broadcasting, the Broadcasting Act (Act No. 132 of 1950) requires approved basic broadcasters and registered general broadcasters to report major accidents caused by the facilities for broadcasting to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) recently summarized the occurrence status and recurrence prevention measures of major accidents (terrestrial and satellite broadcasting accidents) in fiscal 2020. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the same to the public.
