May 24, 2021 Public Appeal (Re-appeal) for Proposals on R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources for Fiscal 2021

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public appeal (for the second time) from Tuesday, May 25 through Friday, June 25, 2021, for proposals on research and development (R&D) for expansion of radio wave resources to be conducted in and after fiscal 2021.

1. Application method

Refer to the proposal overview for further details about the application requirements. Prepare a set of proposal documents following the style specified in the Proposal Preparation Guidelines.

2. Future plans

The future schedule is assumed to be as follows, but this will depend on the status of the external evaluation.

• Late July: Evaluation by external experts and selection of research institutions to be contracted
• Mid-August: Notification of approved/unapproved proposals
• From late August: Conclusion of research consignment agreement and the start of R&D
