June 1, 2021 FY2021 Public Appeal related to Innovation Program

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has started a public appeal related to the INNO-vation program. This program will support extraordinary ambitious technological ideas with tremendous potential and transmitting diversified varieties of challenges from all over Japan to every corner of the world in order to create disruptive and global value in the ICT field.

MIC has implemented the INNO-vation program since fiscal 2014 to support “INNO (from the Japanese kanji 異能 meaning "Unusual Ability") people” working on extraordinary ambitious technological ideas with no fear of failure. The Program aims to support the bold ideas of creative thinkers who, unfettered by conventional wisdom and unafraid of failure, are able to think outside of the box and take decisive action in order to create something from nothing
