June 9, 2021 Appeal for Opinions on Draft ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2021

The Cybersecurity Task Force, a unit organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), drafted a proposal document entitled “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2021.” This document was prepared as a study result of the Cybersecurity Task Force. In this connection, MIC will make an appeal for opinions from Thursday, June 10 through Friday, July 9, 2021.

1. Overview

The Cybersecurity Task Force, which came into operation on January 30, 2017, compiled a proposal document entitled “IoT/5G Security Comprehensive Measures 2020” in July last year. While confirming the progress of the measures listed in the proposal and considering changes in the situation, such as the promotion of a digital reform of society as a whole, the Cybersecurity Task Force has been studying how to respond to new issues and accelerate an expansion of the measures since then.
Considering the study results, the Cybersecurity Task Force drafted a proposal document entitled “ICT Cybersecurity Comprehensive Measures 2021,” and MIC has decided to appeal for opinions on the draft From Thursday, June 10 through Friday, July 9, 2021.

2. Guidelines for appealing opinions

2. Submission deadline

Friday, July 9, 2021 (Opinions, if submitted by postal mail, must arrive no later than the same day.)

3. Future plans

Considering opinions submitted on the draft, the Cybersecurity Task Force will further make a study and finalize the measures around the summer of 2021.
