June 11, 2021 Decision on Implementation Policy on Telework Days 2021

The Ministries Concerned Liaison Conference on Teleworking Promotion held its 11th meeting on June 9 and decided on an implementation policy on Telework Days 2021.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLITT) have been collaborating with related ministries and organizations and implementing Telework Days (a campaign calling for intensive teleworking in summer) since 2017.
The Ministries Concerned Liaison Conference on Teleworking Promotion decided on the implementation policy* on Telework Days 2021 at its 11th meeting held on June 9.
Specifically, the movement of athletes, related parties, etc. will occur during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Therefore, the parties concerned decided to promote intensive teleworking from July 19 through September 5 by curbing the contact opportunities of people and alleviating traffic congestion to realize the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games safely and securely.

In addition, at the 11th meeting, The Ministries Concerned Liaison Conference on Teleworking Promotion had Mr. AKAZAWA Ryosei, State Minister of the Cabinet Office, also attend from the viewpoint of coordinating with measures against COVID-19.
