June 21, 2021 Public Appeal for Proposals concerning FY2021 Information and Communications Technology R&D

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make an appeal for proposals from Monday, June 21 through Wednesday, July 21, 2021, for the following research and development (R&D) theme to be newly implemented.

1. Period of public appeal

From Monday, June 21 and no later than 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021

2. R&D theme and planned budget

MIC has decided to make this public appeal for the R&D theme with the budget, as specified below.

    Advanced R&D for Himawari Geostationary Satellites is a theme of MIC’s R&D selected by the Strategic Program for Accelerating Research, Development and Utilization of Space Technology of the Cabinet Office.

3. Selection of candidate contractor and future schedule

MIC will select a candidate contractor based on the results of external evaluation. The schedule may be changed depending on the status of the external evaluation.
MIC will make a re-appeal for proposals if no proposals meeting the conditions are submitted.

By the end of September Sending acceptance/rejection notices and publishing the results of the public appeal*
After notification of acceptance As soon as the coordination with the R&D organization is completed, a contract will be concluded promptly, and R&D will be implemented.

    MIC will announce the names of the adopted R&D institution and the principal investigator.
