June 23, 2021 Result of Public Appeal for Proposals for Bio-electromagnetic Environment Research and Evaluation Technology Research on Radio Wave Safety to be Conducted from FY2021

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public appeal for proposals for bio-electromagnetic environment research and evaluation technology research on radio wave safety to be conducted from fiscal 2021. Recently, MIC has conducted an external evaluation of the proposals made in response to the public appeal. Considering the result of the evaluation, MIC selected a number of candidate contractors considering the results of the external evaluation.

MIC has been conducting bioelectromagnetic environment research and evaluation technology research on radio wave safety to obtain knowledge on the biological effects of radio waves. Thereby, MIC intends to eliminate public concerns about radio waves and build a society where radio waves can be used with peace of mind.
MIC made a public appeal for proposals from Friday, March 26 through Friday, May 7, 2021, for the themes of bio-electromagnetic environment research and evaluation technology research on radio wave safety, as specified below, to be conducted from fiscal 2021. As a result, there was one proposal each for two themes. Therefore, MIC had the proposals externally evaluated by experts and nominated the candidate contractors, as specified below, by considering the external evaluation.
MIC will conclude a consignment contract with the candidate contractors after confirming the appropriateness of the candidate contractors to implement the contents of the proposal.
