June 25, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report of the Study Meeting on a System for Ensuring the Reliability of Data Issued by Organizations and Draft Guidelines on e-seal

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, May 1 through Friday, June 4, 2021, on a report of study results drafted by the Study Meeting on a System for Ensuring the Reliability of Data Issued by Organizations and Guidelines on e-seal drafted by MIC. As a result, 19 opinions (on the report) and 25 opinions (on the guidelines) were submitted. Accordingly, MIC will open the submitted opinions to the public, MIC’s views on the opinions, along with the finalized Report of the Study Meeting on a System for Ensuring the Reliability of Data Issued by Organizations and the finalized Guidelines on e-seal.

1. Background

MIC made this appeal for opinions from Saturday, May 1 through Friday, June 4, 2021, on Draft Report of the Study Meeting on a System for Ensuring the Reliability of Data Issued by Organizations and Draft Guidelines on e-seal. Guidelines on e-seal summarized required technical and operational e-seal standards for reliable services and businesses in Japan.
Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the result of the appeal for opinions to the public, along with the Report of the Study Meeting on a System for Ensuring the Reliability of Data Issued by Organizations, which was finalized with consideration of the past discussions and the result of the appeal for opinions and Guidelines on e-seal, which was finalized by MIC on the basis of the report.
