June 30, 2021 Results of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Change of Interconnection Tariff Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and NTT West and Re-appeal for Opinions

Additions, including connection menu related to subscriber optical fiber lines

The Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council made an appeal for opinions from Saturday, May 29 through Monday, June 28, 2021. This appeal was on authorization to change the interconnection tariff (including an additional connection menu related to subscriber optical fiber lines) of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT East and West) for their category I designated telecommunications facilities. As a result, seven opinions were submitted.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to open the result of the appeal for opinions to the public. In this connection, a re-appeal for opinions will be made from Thursday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in relation to the opinions submitted.

NTT East and West applied for authorization for a change of the interconnection tariff due to the addition of a new connection menu item (i.e., connections of specified optical signal terminal lines) related to subscriber optical fiber lines.

Draft Change of Interconnection Tariff Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities based on Article 33, Paragraph 2 of the Telecommunications Business Act (NTT East and NTT West)

2. Period of submission

From Thursday, July 1 and no later than Wednesday, July 14, 2021 (submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline date)

4. Future plans

A re-appeal for opinions will be made after the reception of opinions on the change. Then Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council will conduct investigations and deliberations based on the results of all opinions received and make a report to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications.
