July 2, 2021 Signing Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Information and Communications Field with the Republic of Singapore

TAKEDA Ryota, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the information and communications field with the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Singapore (hereafter referred to as “Singapore”).

1. Background of Signing Memorandum of Understanding

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Communications and Information of Singapore have been discussing the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (hereafter referred to as the “MoU”) on cooperation in the information and communications field. This MoU aims at expanding the cooperation of both countries in the information and communications field.
The two countries have agreed to cooperate in the areas specified below. Accordingly, TAKEDA Ryota, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, and H.E. Ms. Josephine TEO, Minister for Communications and Information, have signed the MoU online.

3. Future policy

MIC will continue strengthening relations with Singapore in the information and communications field based on the MoU.
