July 7, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report on Ideal State of Public Telephones in Response to Changes in Socio-economic Environment

The Telecommunications Business Policy Committee (chaired by MORIKAWA Hiroyuki, Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo) of the Information and Communications Council drafted a report for inquiry No. 1231 on the ideal state of public telephones in response to changes in the socio-economic environment, dated January 22, 2021. In this connection, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions on the draft report from Friday, May 21 through Monday, June 21, 2021.
As a result, 13 opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the submitted opinions to the public, along with the views of the Telecommunications Business Policy Committee on the opinions.
