The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a report from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by UCHIYAMADA Takeshi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation). This report was made in response to inquiry No. 1231 on the ideal state of public telephones in response to changes in the socio-economic environment, dated January 22, 2021.
1. Background
In reply to the Minister’s inquiry of January 2021 on the ideal state of public telephones in response to changes in the socio-economic environment, and this report was made with consideration of the study and deliberation of the Telecommunications Business Policy Committee and the Universal Service Subcommittee under the Information and Communications Council and the result of the appeal for opinions.
