July 8, 2021 Result of Appeal for Opinions on Draft Revision of Guidelines for Operation of Article 27-3 of Telecommunications Business Act and Release of Revised Guidelines

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made an appeal for opinions from Wednesday, May 12 through Thursday, June 10, 2021, on the draft revision of the Guidelines for the Operation of Article 27-3 of the Telecommunications Business Act. As a result, six opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the opinions submitted, MIC’s views on them, and the revised Guidelines to the public.

1. Result of appeal for opinions

MIC’s Guidelines for the Operation of Article 27-3 of the Telecommunications Business Act (hereafter referred to as “the Operation Guidelines”) has been established to show the concrete concept and case examples of the operation of Article 27-3 and relevant provisions of the Telecommunications Business Act (Act No. 86 of 1984).
Recently, MIC has decided to revise the Operation Guidelines to add specific case examples and clarify the rules in the Operation Guidelines. Accordingly, MIC made an appeal for opinions from Wednesday, May 12 through Thursday, June 10, 2021.
As a result, six opinions were submitted. The submitted opinions and MIC’s views on the opinions are shown in the attachment.
