August 25, 2021 Release of Guidelines for Interpretation and Operation of Presumption Rules of Permission for Simultaneous Broadcasting on Transmission of the Internet

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the Agency for Cultural Affairs (ACA) made an appeal for opinions from July 14 through August 3, 2021, on draft Guidelines for Interpretation and Operation of Presumption Rules of Permission for Simultaneous Broadcasting on Transmission of the Internet recently prepared by the Study Group on Formulation of Guidelines for Presumption Rules of Permission.
Recently, with consideration of the appeal for opinions, the draft was reviewed, and MIC and ACA will release the finalized version to the public.

1. Overview

The draft Guidelines for Interpretation and Operation of Presumption Rules of Permission for Simultaneous Broadcasting on Transmission of the Internet (hereafter referred to as the “draft Guidelines”) was prepared on July 9, 2021, based on the study results of the Study Group on Formulation of Guidelines for Presumption Rules of Permission.
Accordingly, MIC and ACA made the appeal for opinions on the draft Guidelines from July 14 through August 3, 3021, and received 35 opinions as a result.
With consideration of the result, the draft was reviewed, and MIC and ACA have decided to release the finalized version, along with the result of the appeal for opinions.
