January 7, 2022 Call for Proposals for Information and Communications Technology R&D

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) announces call a for proposals for a new research and development (R&D) theme of information and communications technologies from Friday, January 7 through Monday, February 7, 2022.

1. Period of the call for proposals

From Friday, January 7 to 2:00 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022

2. R&D theme

MIC invites research proposals for the following R&D theme.

3. Method of application

• 1.
  Prepare a written proposal following the guidelines for preparing written proposals.
• 2.
  Make an online application by entering application information through the Cross-ministerial R&D Management System (called "e-Rad" for short). Complete all application operations on e-Rad by 2:00 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022.

4. Selection of contractor candidate and future schedule

External experts and specialists will evaluate proposals submitted following MIC’s Guidelines for the Evaluation of Information and Communications Research (6th Edition). Based on the evaluation results, MIC will select the implementing organization. The implementing organization will conclude a consignment contract with MIC to conduct this R&D.
If no proposals meeting the requirements are submitted, MIC will again invite proposals.

Future schedule

• Evaluation of proposals by external experts and specialists
• Determination and announcement of the contractor (the name of the selected R&D organization and the principal investigator will be announced), and conclusion of the contract
