Technical Requirements for 5-GHz-band Weather Radar and 9.7-GHz-band General-purpose Weather Radar within Technical Requirements for Weather Radars
Since October 2017, the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: ANDO Makoto, professor emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council has been studying technical requirements for 5-GHz-band weather radar and 9.7-GHz-band general-purpose weather radar in response to inquiry No. 2040 (Technical Requirements for Weather Radar) dated September 27, 2017.
Recently, the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee compiled a draft report, and accordingly, an appeal for opinions on the draft will be made from Saturday, January 15 through Monday, February 14, 2022, as specified below.

2. Overview
Since October 2017, the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee (Chief Investigator: ANDO Makoto, professor emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council has been studying technical requirements for 5-GHz-band weather radar and 9.7-GHz-band general-purpose weather radar in response to inquiry No. 2040 (Technical Requirements for Weather Radar) dated September 27, 2017. In this connection, the 68th meeting of the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council was held from Tuesday, December 14 through Friday, December 24, 2021 by exchanging emails. The results of the past studies were compiled as a draft committee report at the meeting. Accordingly, it has been decided to make this appeal for opinions on the draft from Saturday, January 15 through Monday, February 14, 2022.
