January 26, 2022 Holding Amateur Radio Advisory Board for Wireless Human Resource Development

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold the Amateur Radio Advisory Board for Wireless Human Resource Development to obtain advice and recommendations from experts on how to realize a system and environment related to amateur radio for wireless human resource development.

1. Background and purpose

To realize a system and environment facilitating amateur radio use, the Advisory Board will discuss the development of an environment suitable for amateur radio in Japan, making it easier for beginners, including young people as future leaders, to start amateur radio. This advisory board aims to obtain advice and recommendations from experts from the viewpoint of fostering wireless and digital human resources and promoting experiments and research and the development of radio technology.

2. Key considerations

  • Advice and recommendations for the realization of a system and environment related to amateur radio for the development of wireless human resources
    (The review will consider changes in the social environment surrounding amateur radio and radio wave usage in Japan, changes in the market and technology trends of radio equipment, the systems of other countries and their social conditions, and the purpose of the Radio Act.)
