January 27, 2022 Announcement of Contents of Notification concerning Utilization Business of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (headed by President KOBAYASHI Mitsutoshi) (hereafter referred to as “NTT West”) recently submitted a notification concerning its business (hereafter referred to as the “utilization business”) according to Paragraph 6, Article 2 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Act No. 85 of 1984; hereafter referred to as the “NTT Act”). Accordingly, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will open the content of the notification to the public.

1. Overview

According to Paragraph 6, Article 2 of the NTT Act, in cases where NTT West intends to run any utilization business, it must in advance notify the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of the matters provided for in MIC’s ministerial ordinance.
Accordingly, NTT West submitted a notification describing the respective matters listed in Article 2-4 of the Rules for Enforcement of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc. (Ministerial Ordinance of MPT No. 23 of 1985) on January 20, 2022. Accordingly, MIC has decided to open the content to the public under Article 2-5 of the same ordinance.

The notification states that NTT West will commence the said business on Monday, February 21, 2022.
