October 28, 2022 Working Group on Improving Literacy for ICT Use to Meet

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold a meeting of the Working Group on Improving Literacy for ICT Use to consider the approaches to literacy required in the digital society of the future and measures to promote such literacy.

1. Purpose

MIC has for some time promoted ICT literacy improvement measures mainly targeted at young people, with the primary objective of encouraging them to avoid the risks associated with ICT use, such as ways of preventing trouble on the internet.
With ICT use now commonplace among people of all ages, MIC will hold a meeting of the Working Group on Improving Literacy for ICT Use to consider the approaches to literacy required in the digital society of the future and measures to promote such literacy, while also taking into account the concept of digital citizenship, which centers on engaging with digital society autonomously and of one's own free will.

The first meeting will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, with further meetings to follow in due course.
