October 28, 2022 Results of Solicitation of Opinions on the Revision of Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. and Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Co., Ltd.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions from Thursday, September 15 through Friday, October 14, 2022, on the draft revisions to the Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. and the Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Co., Ltd. As a result, five opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC has decided to disclose the submitted opinions to the public, along with MIC's views on the opinions.

1. Overview

MIC plans to revise the Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. and the Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Co., Ltd., based on the Japan Post Holdings and Japan Post Monitoring Report 2022 published on June 17, 2022.

2. Revision of the guidelines for supervision and request for reports based on the guidelines

Taking into consideration the submitted opinions, the revisions will be made as originally proposed. MIC requests that Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. and Japan Post Co., Ltd. submit reports in accordance with the revised Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. and Guidelines for Supervision of Japan Post Co., Ltd.
