October 28, 2022 November is Telework Month

Intensive initiatives to promote the spread of telework

The Telework Month Executive Committee (composed of representatives from the Cabinet Secretariat's Cabinet Bureau of Personnel Affairs, the Cabinet Office's Office for Promotion of Regional Revitalization, the Digital Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the Japan Tourism Agency, the Japan Telework Association, and the Japan Telework Society) will undertake intensive activities to promote the spread of telework in November, which has been designated Telework Month.

During Telework Month, MIC will partner with relevant ministries, agencies, and organizations to select and commend companies implementing pioneering telework initiatives, and will also hold events aimed at further promoting the spread of telework.
As a flexible way of working that facilitates the effective use of time and space, telework remains an important tool for enabling economic activities to continue while preventing the spread of COVID-19. MIC intends to take the opportunity offered by Telework Month to issue a renewed nationwide call for proactive efforts to leverage telework.

One Telework Month initiative will see MIC join forces with the Cabinet Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Digital Agency, MHLW, METI, MLIT, and Japan Tourism Agency to issue a request for prefectures, government-designated cities, and economic organizations, etc. to cooperate with Telework Month.

For Telework Month, MIC is looking for individuals and companies that conduct telework-related activities. MIC invites companies and other organizations to participate in Telework Month activities and make widespread use of the Telework Month logo and posters available at the Telework Month website. Those registering their activities at the Telework Month website will have their company name and details of their activities published on the website. MIC looks forward to your active participation.
