November 1, 2022 Announcement of FY2022 Top Hundred Telework Pioneers and Awards of Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

Since fiscal 2015, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has been recognizing enterprises and organizations advancing the introduction and utilization of teleworking as Telework Pioneers, with those demonstrating sufficient achievements selected as the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers. In fiscal 2016, MIC established the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers to recognize particularly outstanding pioneers among the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers every year.
Recently, MIC selected the Telework Pioneers, Top Hundred Telework Pioneers, and recipients of the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications for fiscal 2022.

1. Overview

To promote the spread of telework, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has been recognizing enterprises and organizations advancing the introduction and utilization of teleworking as Telework Pioneers and the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers since fiscal 2015.
In fiscal 2016, MIC established the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications to recognize particularly outstanding pioneers among the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers every year.

2. Results of screening for Telework Pioneers and Top Hundred Telework Pioneers

Based on the outcome of a review by a screening panel consisting of external experts, MIC has this year chosen four new organizations as Telework Pioneers, with 37 new organizations among the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers. In total, 68 organizations have been certified as Telework Pioneers and 381 as the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers.

3. Results of screening for the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

From the Top Hundred Telework Pioneers selected, MIC chose the following six companies as recipients of the Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, in recognition of outstanding efforts that should make them role models for other organizations.

  • Alue Co., Ltd.
  • Imacrea, Ltd.
  • Genio Co., Ltd.
  • SoftBank Corp.
  • Phone Appli Inc.
  • Ricoh Co., Ltd.

4. Awards ceremony

MIC will hold an award ceremony during the telework event entitled Changing Work, which is scheduled to be held on November 30, 2022. The Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications will give a certificate of commendation to each winner of the Award of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications. MIC will sponsor this event jointly with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The award ceremony for the Shining Telework Awards presented by the Minister for Health, Labor and Welfare will take place at the same time.
