November 15, 2022 Partial report from the Information and Communications Council Concerning Technical Requirements Relating to Automatically or Remotely Operated Convenience Radio

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by UCHIYAMADA Takeshi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation) concerning technical requirements relating to automatically or remotely operated Convenience Radio under technical requirements relating to the utilization and advancement of low-power mobile communication systems for private utilities as part of technical requirements for upgrading of low-power wireless communications systems.

1. Background

Since August 2022, the Land Radiocommunication Subcommittee under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council has been engaged in deliberations on technical requirements relating to automatically or remotely operated Convenience Radio under technical requirements relating to the utilization and advancement of low-power mobile communication systems for private utilities as part of technical requirements for upgrading of low-power wireless communications systems (Information and Communications Council Inquiry No. 2009, dated September 30, 2002). Today, MIC received a partial report on this matter from the Information and Communications Council.

2. Future schedule

In consideration of this partial report, MIC will promptly develop the relevant systems, etc.
