November 25, 2022 ICT Innovation Forum 2022

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold the ICT Innovation Forum 2022. Aimed at tapping into the results of ICT research and development (R&D) projects to open up pathways to the future, this event will feature presentations on the outcomes of R&D projects completed in the previous fiscal year and on R&D trends.

1. Purpose

MIC is strategically promoting R&D in the information and communications field to meet socio-economic needs and realize innovation.
This forum will showcase some of the R&D promoted by MIC, featuring exhibits on the outcomes of R&D of ICT priority technology^*1 and the results of the Strategic Information and Communications R&D Promotion Programme (SCOPE)^*2. By doing so, MIC aims to promote the use and social implementation of the results of this R&D.

  R&D of ICT priority technology: A project in which MIC sets R&D issues to be prioritized and entrusts them to private companies, universities, and other research institutes to promote R&D.
• *2
  SCOPE: A competitive fund for R&D in the ICT field, this project outsources R&D of issues rich in originality and novelty to generate innovation in the ICT field.
