November 29, 2022 Licensing for Entry into Specified Correspondence Delivery Services

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council (chaired by KAWAHAMA Noboru, Professor, School of Government, Kyoto University) concerning permission for specified correspondence delivery services and approval for establishment of correspondence mail management regulations for Musashiseki Unyu Kabushiki Kaisha (headed by SUZUKI Masataka, representative director), and approval for alteration of correspondence mail management regulations for Metro Service Co., Ltd. (headed by HASEBE Shoji, representative director). MIC received a report from the Council stating that it is appropriate to grant the permission and approval as per the inquiry.
In response to the report, MIC granted permission and approval to the applicants today.

The granting of permission to Musashiseki Unyu Kabusiki Kaisha takes the number of specified correspondence delivery service providers to 581. Specified correspondence delivery services are positioned as businesses that provide diverse services by responding to the sophisticated and diversifying needs of users and making creative efforts. It is expected that entry of these service providers into the correspondence delivery service industry will increase the range of services from which users can choose.
