February 3, 2022 Appeal for Subsidized Companies (Executive Organizations) for Project on Digital Utilization Support for Users under FY2022 Initial Budget

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public appeal from Thursday, February 3 through Friday, March 4, 2022, for subsidized companies (executive organizations) for digital utilization support for users under the fiscal 2022 initial budget.

1. Purpose of project

The project on digital utilization support for users aims to reduce disparities in opportunities or required abilities related to digital utilization. For this purpose, entities, including private businesses, will provide online administrative procedures, advice, and consultation on using services to older people who do not have sufficient understanding and skills regarding digital utilization.

Thursday, February 3, and no later than noon on Friday, March 4, 2022

Fill out and submit the application documents following the Subsidy Grant Guidelines on Promoting Information and Communications Usage Projects and those for fiscal 2020 subsidized companies (executive organizations) on the project on digital utilization support for users under the fiscal 2020 supplementary budget.

Decision on granting subsidies: Early in April 2021

5. Points to note

This public appeal is for subsidized companies (executive organizations). After the executive organizations are decided as a result of the public appeal, MIC will make an appeal for indirectly subsidized companies (project implementing organizations) who will implement the project.
The public appeal and survey on subsidy requests are preliminary procedures to be conducted assuming that the budget will be approved. Then the subsidy project can be started promptly after the initial budget for fiscal 2022 is approved. Therefore, it should be kept in mind that the implementation of the project is subject to the passage of the budget bill, and accordingly, the contents of the projects are subject to change.
