February 8, 2022 Technical requirements for “Radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus—Ancillary equipment—Conducted disturbances,” “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Conducted disturbance measurements,” and “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Radiated disturbance measurements” as CISPR standards

Partial report from the Information and Telecommunications Council

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has received a partial report today from the Information and Communications Council (Chaired by UCHIYAMADA Takeshi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Corporation) in response to MPT’s inquiry No. 3 of September 26, 1988, on various standards of the Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques (CISPR; English: International Special Committee on Radio Interference). The report partly covers “Radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus—Ancillary equipment—Conducted disturbances,” “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Conducted disturbance measurements,” and “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Radiated disturbance measurements” as CISPR standards

Background

The CISPR specifies tolerances and measurement methods (CISPR standards) for various unwanted electromagnetic waves to prevent interference to other radio communications systems caused by unwanted electromagnetic waves from electrical and electronic equipment.
As a result of the progress of measurement technology, CISPR 16 that is international standard on the measurement of unwanted radio waves has been partially revised. In response to this, the conditions for the application of the standard in Japan have been studied, and today, MIC received a partial report from the Information and Communications Council. The report partly covers “Radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus—Ancillary equipment—Conducted disturbances,” “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Conducted disturbance measurements,” and “Methods of measurement of disturbances and immunity—Radiated disturbance measurements” as CISPR standards.
