March 18, 2022 Holding a Meeting of a Study Group on the Use of Test Data based on the US and European Standards for Wireless LAN Systems

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold a meeting of a Study Group on the Use of Test Data based on the US and European Standards for Wireless LAN Systems to obtain advice and recommendations from experts on how test data based on the US and European standards for wireless LAN systems should be used in Japan.

1. Background and purpose

Wireless LAN and Bluetooth have been widely used, being installed in personal computers and home appliances, and their use is expected to further expand in the future. In addition, along with the global distribution of wireless devices, there is demand among registered certification bodies for the use of test data based on the US and European standards for wireless LAN systems.
In view of these circumstances, MIC will hold a meeting of the Study Group to concretely study how test data based on the US and European standards for wireless LAN systems should be used.

Comparison of technical requirements, test items, measurement methods and other matters necessary for the certification of wireless LAN systems in Japan, Europe and the United States
Direction of the review of test items and measurement methods in Japan through the use of test data of wireless systems based on the US and European standards
