April 1, 2022 Public Solicitation of Proposals for R&D of New ICT Equipment, etc. for the Elderly and People with Disabilities as a Government-subsidized R&D Project in Technologies to Bridge Digital Divide

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided to make a public solicitation of proposals for research and development (R&D) of new ICT equipment, etc. for the elderly and people with disabilities as a government-subsidized project in technologies to bridge the digital divide for FY2022, from Friday, April 1 through Friday, May 20, 2022.

1. Project overview

The project is intended to enhance communications and broadcasting services for the elderly and disabled. It covers private companies that conduct R&D relating to information and communications equipment, etc. for sophisticating the communications and broadcasting services for the elderly and disabled or R&D relating to advanced communications and broadcasting services for the elderly and disabled that have not been implemented in the past. The project will subsidize a part of the R&D funds of these companies.

2. Public solicitation period

From 2:00 pm on Friday, April 1 and no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022 (Proposals submitted by postal mail must also arrive no later than this deadline time.)

3. Application method

After registering necessary matters through the Cross-ministerial Research and Development Management System (e-Rad), please fill in necessary matters in the prescribed application documents specified by the application guidelines, and directly hand them in at or send them by postal mail to the submission destination.
