April 4, 2022 Results of Acceptance of Applications for Authorization of Establishment Plans for Specified Base Stations for Diffusion of 5G Mobile Communications Systems in the 2.3 GHz Band

From Monday, February 28 through Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted applications for the authorization of establishment plans on specified base stations for diffusion of fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications systems in the 2.3 GHz band and received one application.

1. Applicants (listed alphabetically)

  KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company applied as partners in each region. Therefore, these applications are considered to be a single application under Paragraph 8, Item 2 of MIC Notice No. 51 of 2022 (Matters that specify guidelines for setting up specified base stations for diffusion of fifth-generation mobile communication systems in the 2.3 GHz band).

2. Future schedule

After MIC examines the accepted application, it will consult with the Radio Regulatory Council in authorizing the establishment plan.
