April 15, 2022 Authorization for Changes of Interconnection Tariff Relating to Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation

Authorization for change of interconnection tariff for expansion of POI for IPoE system

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has granted authorization today for the change of the interconnection tariff relating to Category I designated telecommunications facilities that Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (hereafter referred to as “NTT West”) applied for.

Under the current interconnection tariff, the interconnection charge relating to the gateway router exchange function in IP over Ethernet (IPoE) is set per point of installation (POI) of the gateway router.
Recently, in response to requests to NTT West from service providers, single-prefecture POIs will be newly established in Shiga, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima Prefectures. However, the interconnection charge for the POI is not set in the current interconnection tariff. Accordingly, NTT West is amending the interconnection tariff to add this revision.
