April 22, 2022 Solicitation of Proposals Related to Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV to Establish New Daily Lives

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will solicit proposals related to its Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV to Establish New Daily Lives as described in the attached documents.

  • Disaster Resistance Enhancement Project by Using Optical Cable TV to Establish New Daily Lives based on FY2022 Initial Budget and FY2021 Supplementary Budget

1.Implementing entities

Municipalities, collaborating entities of municipalities, third-sector corporations, or succeeding business operators

2. Project description

As specified in Article 3 (7) 1 of the Subsidy Guidelines on Projects to Support the Development of Broadcasting Networks (hereinafter referred to as “the Subsidy Guidelines”).

3. Deadline and method for submitting proposals

1. Submission deadline

First deadline: 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022
Second deadline: 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022
Third deadline: 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022
(Applications submitted by postal mail must also arrive no later than each deadline.)

    Decisions to grant a subsidy will be made in order, starting from applications filed by the first deadline.
  • *
    In the event of many applications, the budget to be allocated may be adjusted. * If the total amount of subsidies to be granted to applications filed by the first or second deadline is expected to reach the amount of budget, MIC may not accept applications to be filed by the second or third deadline, respectively.

2. Submission method

Prepare a proposal document following the Subsidy Guidelines and submit the document by either of the following methods.

  • Submission of the electronic data using email or a large-capacity file transfer system specified by MIC to the competent Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications in the case of Okinawa)
  • Application by the system for filing requests for subsidies (jGrants)
