May 6, 2022 Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Report on Information and Communications Technology Strategy Beyond 5G

The Subcommittee on Technology Strategy (chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, professor, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council compiled a draft of a report titled "Information and Communications Technology Strategy Beyond 5G."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will solicit opinions on this draft report from Saturday, May 7 through Monday, June 6, 2022.

1. Overview

With the aim of building a robust and vibrant society in the 2030s, the Subcommittee on Technology Strategy (chaired by AIDA Hitoshi, professor, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo) under the Department on Information and Communications Technology of the Information and Communications Council has held discussions on "Information and Communications Technology Strategy Beyond 5G" (Inquiry No. 27, dated September 30, 2021) to develop strategies for R&D and international standardization toward the realization of Beyond 5G, the next-generation information and communication infrastructure that is expected to become the foundation of all industries and social activities.
The Subcommittee compiled a draft of a report titled "Information and Communications Technology Strategy Beyond 5G." Accordingly, MIC will solicit opinions on the draft report from Saturday, May 7 through Monday, June 6, 2022.

No later than Monday, June 6, 2022 (submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline)

MIC will also post the reference information on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/en/ ) and distribute it at the contact point.

5. Future schedule

MIC will take into consideration the submitted opinions and finalize the report.
