May 12, 2022 Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Report of Study Group on the Advancement of Space Weather Forecasting

Since FY2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held meetings of a Study Group on the Advancement of Space Weather Forecasting to examine the national observation and analysis capabilities and appropriate measures to deal with space weather forecasting in a cross-sectoral manner.
The Study Group has recently compiled a draft report. Accordingly, MIC will solicit opinions on the draft report from Friday, May 13 through Monday, June 13, 2022.

Draft Report of the Study Group on the Advancement of Space Weather Forecasting

2. Outline

The Study Group on the Advancement of Space Weather Forecasting has compiled a draft report of the discussion results at its meetings held since January 2022.

3. Deadline for submission of opinions

No later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 (submission of opinions by postal mail must also arrive no later than the deadline)

4. Notes

An opinion submitted may be officially announced along with the submitter’s name (corporate name if the submitter is a corporate entity) and information on other attributes.
Please understand that MIC is not able to give any specific answer to individual opinions submitted.

5. Future schedule

MIC will take into consideration the submitted opinions and finalize the report.

6. How to obtain reference information

The materials attached hereto will be posted on the "Press Release" page of MIC's website by around 2:00 p.m. today. These materials will also be posted on the public comment page of the e-Gov (https://www.e-gov.go.jp/en/ ) and will be made available for viewing and obtaining copies at the Space Communications Policy Division, Global Strategy Bureau, MIC (9th Floor, MIC).
