May 18, 2022 Results of Solicitation of Opinions on Draft Evaluation Results of FY2021 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage for Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA and Disclosure of the Evaluation Results of Survey

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) evaluated the degree of effective use of the radio spectrum based on the FY2021 survey on actual radio spectrum usage for mobile phones and nationwide broadband wireless access (BWA). From Saturday, March 26 through Monday, April 25, 2022, MIC solicited opinions on the Draft Evaluation Results of the FY2021 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage for Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA. Considering the results of the opinions received, MIC today consulted the Radio Regulatory Council (chaired by HIBINO Takashi, Chairman of the Board, Daiwa Securities Group Inc.) and received a report stating that the draft would be appropriate.
Accordingly, MIC discloses the submitted opinions on the draft evaluation results of the FY2021 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage for Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA and the evaluation results of the survey.

1. Results of public solicitation of opinions

MIC solicited opinions from Saturday, March 26 through Monday, April 25, 2022, on the draft of the evaluation results of the FY2021 Survey on Actual Radio Spectrum Usage for Mobile Phones and Nationwide BWA (the "Evaluation Results"), and received 38 opinions.

2. Report from the Radio Regulatory Council and disclosure of the Evaluation Results

  Considering the results of the opinions received on the draft evaluation results, MIC today consulted the Radio Regulatory Council and received a report stating that the draft would be appropriate.

  Pursuant to the provisions of Article 26-2, Paragraph 3 of the Radio Act, MIC discloses the evaluation results and an outline thereof.
