Report from the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received today a report from the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council concerning authorization for changes of the interconnection tariffs relating to Category I designated telecommunications facilities of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) (revision of access charges, etc. for FY2022 based on the long run incremental cost [LRIC] model) (Inquiry No. 3150 dated March 28, 2022). In consideration of this report, MIC will promptly grant the authorization relating to this case.

1. Outline of Changes

Following the promulgation and partial enforcement of the Ministerial Order Partially Amending the Regulation for Access Charges of Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities (MIC Order No. 9 of 2022) on March 1, 2022, necessary changes will be made to the interconnection tariffs of NTT East and NTT West to provide for interconnection charges, etc. for FY2022 to be calculated based on the LRIC model.

2. Future schedule

In consideration of this report, MIC will promptly grant authorization to change the interconnection tariffs.
