May 27, 2022 Publication of the Results of Solicitation of Opinions on the Draft Regulation for Enforcement of the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Sender

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) solicited opinions from Wednesday, March 16 through to Thursday, April 14, 2022, on the draft Regulation for Enforcement of the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Sender. As a result, 30 opinions were submitted. Accordingly, MIC discloses the submitted opinions along with MIC’s views on the opinions to the public.

1. Background

MIC prepared a draft of the Regulation for Enforcement of the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Sender, and solicited opinions from Wednesday, March 16 through to Thursday, April 14, 2022.

2. Results of solicitation of opinions

In response to the solicitation of opinions, 30 opinions were submitted.

3. Promulgation and coming into effect of the Ministerial Order

Based on the results of the solicitation of opinions, the Regulation for Enforcement of the Act on the Limitation of Liability for Damages of Specified Telecommunications Service Providers and the Right to Demand Disclosure of Identification Information of the Sender was promulgated today.
